Speaker and Teacher
Rob Murray, social entrepreneur and co-author of "Living Alive", hails from Cape Town, South Africa where he graduating from Stellenbosh University with a B.A. in Theology before moving to the United States in 2002, where he chased down and married his beautiful bride, Natalie LaRue, a singer and songwriter in her own right.
He has been a touring Christian musician and youth pastor, but has since veered into the field of social entrepreneurship completing a masters’ degree in Social and Civic Entrepreneurship through Bakke Graduate School. This has led to his ongoing passion for finding ways to connect faith across the unnecessary divides found between churches, businesses and social justice.
In 2013, Rob along with his good friend Mike Donehey, the lead singer from the band Tenth Avenue North, released a pocket-sized book called Living Alive: Sermon on the Mount. The 28-day devotional challenges readers to not only listen but to intentionally live out the words of Jesus (livingalivebook.com). These books were hand-assembled in Haiti to create jobs for transitioning aged orphans and this project led to Rob becoming the director of Haiti Made (www.haitimade.com) a cause united around quality products, economic sustainability, and dignified jobs to fight against Haiti’s orphan & child slavery crisis.
Rob and Natalie have made their home in Nashville, Tennessee with their four children.
